As announced by the Southern Railway, the train service named Rock Fort Express, which originate from Chennai to Kumbakonam, will be terminated at Tiruchchirapalli from 28th August. This train will no longer travel to Kumbakonam and will be cancelled between Tiruchi and Kumbakonam from 28th onwards according to the time table released by Southern Railway.
Regarding this, officers in Southern Railway said that, due to the termination at Tiruchi, people could not reserve tickets to Kumbakonam in Rock Fort Express from August 28th onwards. Also he informed that, there wont be any reduction in number of coaches in this train and due to this termination, people in the delta areas will not be affected as Chennai - Thanjavur Express will be launched as soon as possible.
