The train service between Coimbatore and Mannargudi, which
was announced in this year's railway budget, is going to start its journey from 12th
June onwards. To remind the Semmozhi meeting conducted at Coimbatore and to
honour the special things of “Tamil” language, this train service has been
named as “Semmozhi Express”.
The reservation
for this train starts from today (6/6/2013) morning. The accommodation of 16
coaches for this train includes 6 second class sleeper coaches, 1 three-tier AC coach, 1 two-tier and 1
one-tier AC coaches, 6 second class ordinary coaches and 2 goods coaches. This
train will pass through Nidamangalam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Karur, Erode and
Tirupur. On arrival to Coimbatore, it will stop at Coimbatore North junction.
